Equipment

Microscope

Microscope

Microscopes are globally recommended to improve the success rate of root canal treatment.
In the United States, their use is considered the standard by the American Association of Endodontists (AAE), and specialists are required to use them.

In Japan, however, the adoption rate of dental microscopes is estimated to be only about 5–10%.

Rubber Dam Isolation (Used During Root Canal Treatment)

Rubber Dam Isolation

At our clinic, we use a technique called rubber dam isolation to ensure precise and safe treatment.
A rubber dam is a method that isolates only the tooth being treated using a thin rubber sheet.
It offers the following benefits:

  • Keeps the tooth clean during root canal or cavity treatment.
  • Reduces the risk of accidental swallowing, allowing for safer procedures.
  • Provides a clear view of the treatment area, enabling more precise work.
  • Lessens discomfort during treatment, helping you feel more relaxed.

MTA Cement

MTA Cement

MTA cement is a material used in dental treatments, particularly for protecting the tooth nerve.
When a cavity is deep and reaches the nerve, the usual procedure is to remove the nerve (pulpectomy). However, using MTA cement may make it possible to preserve the nerve.

At our clinic, we keep three to four types of MTA cement on hand to match the specific treatment area and case.

  1. ①Used to preserve the tooth nerve; a material with excellent biocompatibility.
  2. ②Used to repair perforations—holes unintentionally created in part of the tooth due to repeated root canal treatments.
